Wassup Rockers || Full Movie

Wassup Rockers follows the real-life story of a group of South Central teens who ride skateboards and listen to punk rock instead of conforming to their neighborhood's hip-hop culture. Constantly harassed, they take buses to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Hollywood, where they skate and catch the attention of the local rich girls, inevitably leading to trouble with parents, police and boyfriends.

Fresh Dressed chronicles the history of Hip-Hop <> Urban fashion and its rise from southern cotton plantations to the gangs of 1970s in the South Bronx, to corporate America, and everywhere in-between. Supported by rich archival materials and in depth interviews with individuals crucial to the evolution of a way of life--and the outsiders who studied and admired them--Fresh Dressed goes to the core of where style was born on the black and brown side of town. 

 Fresh Dressed is a fascinating, fun-to-watch chronicle of hip-hop, urban fashion and the hustle that brought oversized pants and graffiti-drenched jackets from Orchard Street to high fashion's catwalks and Middle America shopping malls. Fixed On Fixed is a short film clip profiling five female bicycle riders and their love of riding fixed gear. 

 Riding fixed gear is not only about the bike but also the community that comes with it and this particular fixed gear community is a small, passionate collection of riders who all share a love of riding slightly differently from one another.

 Fixed On Fixed profiles each rider, along with the group as a whole, to share their individual story and collective experience in what riding means to them.

It features Stüssy team riders such as Kevin Terpening, Caleb Barnett, Aaron Loreth, Jesse Alba, Max Klein, as well as the legendary Lance Mountain.

Détour || A film by Michel Gondry

One of the most impressive features of the iPhone 7 Plus, and a major reason to opt for the Plus model instead of the standard iPhone, is its duel-lens camera. To showcase it to its fullest, Apple has recruited French director Michel Gondry (best known for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) to shoot a short film entirely with the smartphone. 

 Entitled Détour, the 11-minute film follows the adventures of a small tricycle as it sets off along the French roads in search of its young owner. It also features an original soundtrack created by Étienne Charry.

adidas Originals by Daniel Arsham || Hourglass - Past

As part of its ongoing collaboration with Daniel Arsham, adidas Originals has released Hourglass - a short film exploring the artist's life and creative work. 

 Part documentary, part fiction, the 12-minute film is made up of three parts - Past, Present and Future - and includes some of Arsham's real childhood experiences. "Time travel and a fluid idea of time is something that I use heavily in my work," said Arsham when speaking to Dazed. "By taking things from the past and causing them to appear as if they've been uncovered on some future archaeological site. The film plays with this idea: hence the hourglass."

 There is no effect used, only camera movements together with stabilization techniques. 
The film has been shot in Hong Kong. 

 Inspired by the Theory of Relativity from Albert Einstein, this is a visual essay about perception and knowledge as reflection of our reality. Mass curves space and time, while the observer has his own perspective.

BÖIKZMÖIND is a 30 minute film about riding fixed gear bikes in beautiful city of Bristol, UK. 

The film shows the diverse cross section of riders and asks why ride bikes with no gears in a city full of hills. It also shines a light on the community and camaraderie that comes with the simple joy of riding bicycles.

 This is the full film, released in 2011, which was previously only available to watch as a purchased digital download, but now the full film is online for everyone to enjoy!

In Return, a creative team that brings stories and experiences to life, sees beauty.

 The infinite tunnels pull us in with their symmetry. The ceiling lights guide our eyes to the horizon. The tiles and posters form patterns that please the eye. The echoes of rushing crowds, a flickering light, a train zooming by. 

 We’ve spent days in the underground looking for the most eye-catching tunnels and made this supercut, capturing the beautiful symmetry underneath the city surface.

Cogs || Short Film

M&C Saatchi Sydney has created this powerful new short film for Australian Mentoring charity AIME. 

 The two-and-a-half-minute short film tells the tale of an unfair system which only favours the privileged few. People are shown going through their lives on seemingly predetermined tracks, before one brave character brakes free from his shackles to start a revolution. 

 Titled Cogs, the short film was directed by Oscar-winning animator Laurent Witz together with his team at ZEILT Productions.

 The divide between the powerful and the powerless has never been greater. And in these challenging times, we need to realise that if we want to change the world, we need to change the way it works.

 AIME is a charity organisation that does just that, using mentoring to make the education system fairer and more inclusive for all. Because educated kids can pull themselves from poverty, and start to break the cycle of inequality.

 In Australia, AIME has already empowered tens of thousands of kids to change the course of their lives. It’s been so successful, the organisation is now launching internationally.
