Manhattan Days || A film by Pontus Alv for Converse Cons

In follow up to last years beautifully shot Trocadero Days, skateboarder Pontus Alv and Converse CONS have teamed up once more, this time taking to the streets of New York City for a new short black-and-white film called Manhattan Days. Alv and his Polar Skate Co. team arrived in the city complete with DIY painted jump ramps and shopping carts, making the most of every street and building makeshift spots where they could.
The enjoyable video is a welcome relief from the Street League-esque skate videos which are abundant on the internet these days, embodying what skateboarding is all about - messing around with your friends and having fun. Skateboarders include Aaron Herrington, Kevin Rodrigues, David Stenström, Jerome Campbell, Dane Brady and Pontus himself.

Arbor Skateboards || James Kelly || Burn It Down

Longboard makers Arbor Skateboards has released an insane new video which shows skateboarder James Kelly hitting up some downhill mountain roads at ridiculous speeds. Arbor Skateboards didn't say where exactly the video is shot, but from checking out some previous videos, and based on old skid marks on the road made by his skateboard, we can assume he's ridden these hills quite a bit. Despite that, he does make a pretty bad bail at around the 2:30 mark. Watch below!

TATTOOING Close Up (in Slow Motion)

Destin from Smarter Every Day brought a Phantom Miro camera to a tattoo parlor to get a super-up-close look at how the process really works. He starts with a tutorial on the inner workings of tattoo machines (which are NOT supposed to be called "tattoo guns," thank you very much), followed up by a close-up view of what tattoo needles are actually doing when they permanently mark human skin. There's also a helpful guide to why you should NOT under any circumstances try to tattoo yourself. You know, in case you were considering it.

41 Years Later || Long Live Southbank

It's fair to say that the Long Live Southbank team have been through some pretty rough times over the last year-and-a-half, but thanks to their constant hard work they've come out the other side with an amazing victory, saving the iconic London skate spot. To celebrate, they've put together a short black-and-white film entitled "41 Years Later", which recaps their journey from the first skate jam in May 2013, all the way to the finish line. There's also some skateboarding from Casper Brooker, Chewy Cannon, Blondey McCoy, Domas Glatkauskas, Kyron Davis, Joleyon Pressey, Darius Trabalza, Rob Smith, Lucien Clarke, Chris Ault and many more. Watch below!
