Josh Kalis, the legend who has sustained one of the most profound careers in skateboarding, turned 45. He sat down for a series of interviews with us for our Life On Video series, and we're honored to be able to show you the complete edit here.

Since his early days with Toy Machine to Alien Workshop and now DGK, Kalis always stayed true to his vision of pure professional skateboarding. And in a world changing to accommodate contests and corporate skating, Kalis stuck to the streets, staying true to those aspects of skating that made him fall in love with it in the first place. That’s why to this day you can still find him skating downtown with as many skaters as possible, having fun and filming new projects. Today as a brand ambassador and tenured skateboarder, nothing but respect can be thrown his way because Kalis forged a legacy by his own rules. We’re all forever indebted to Kalis for reminding us that the next time you feel pressured to participate in something that doesn’t feel right, you don’t have to—because skateboarding is about doing what you love. Josh Kalis truly dedicated his life to skateboarding.

Bob Marley On Suffering In The West, Consciousness & The Human Struggle || Nov, 25, 1979

Rare Bob Marley & The Wailers interview with Bill Phelps, connected to the Santa Barbara County Bowl on November 25, 1979 during the Survival Tour.

This late-1979 period is one of the most important in Marley’s career. Survival had been released that year, carrying a sharper political and Pan-African message through songs like “Africa Unite,” “Zimbabwe,” and “One Drop.” Around this same Santa Barbara performance, professionally filmed material was captured and later issued in home-video form, with Bill Phelps credited as producer and an interview segment associated with the release.

In circulating excerpts from this Bill Phelps interview, Marley speaks on themes that still resonate today like the suffering in the West, consciousness, spiritual understanding, and the deeper meaning behind human struggle. That makes this more than just a rare clip it is a window into Bob Marley’s thinking near the end of the 1970s, when his music and message were reaching a global peak.

"Some day black, some day pink!" || The story of Palermo FC

After an unforgettable weekend in Hamburg for Episode 1, we travelled down the continent to visit the enticing city of Palermo.

Palermo FC shirts are famous the world over. Few teams play in pink and black, and yet their story is so much more than just one about club colours. From the legendary names like Edinson Cavani and Luca Toni that have passed through, to the eclectic mix of kit manufacturers who have produced I Rosanero jerseys, there is so much to explore as someone interested in football and football kits. We wanted to see if we could pick up any vintage Palermo kits during a weekend trip, and also what it was like to watch a match at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Spanning more than five decades of artistic evolution rooted in Los Angeles, the film traces the development of a distinctly West Coast visual language — from Chicano calligraphy and graffiti to photography and contemporary abstraction — and explores how these artists have transformed street-born visual codes into some of the most compelling works in contemporary art. Few genres have had the lasting impact of punk. 1976 is one of those seismic dividing lines in popular music. A history destroying year zero. The point after which everything changed. It was the year that The Ramones debut was released, the year that the first singles from the UK Punk scene were set loose upon an unprepared public. And while the punks wanted to remove themselves from the past, burn all that had come before, nothing happens within a vacuum. These bands didn't appear out of nowhere with the key principles of the genre locked in place. This innovative minimalist, three-chords and the truth, turbo-powered rebellious music had to have precedent. The Untold Story of Kids (1995) || Leo Fitzpatrick

Leo Fitzpatrick is an artist and actor who first caught public attention as Telly in Larry Clark’s controversial 1995 film Kids; a performance that earned him both acclaim and harassment, as some viewers confused him with his character and even blamed him for the film’s fictional misdeeds.

Aside from acting, Fitzpatrick co‐founded the experimental New York gallery Home Alone Gallery in 2012, later becoming a co-director at the Marlborough Chelsea gallery in Manhattan. His gallery Public Access provided an accessible approach to art to both the viewers and artists that was less common within the New York gallery space.
