New Balance Numeric has teamed up with Thrasher Magazine to release a short new video documenting the NBN skate team's recent trip to Spain. A big group of 24 skaters ending up heading out to Madrid, where they quickly found they were attracting far too much attention from the police and security guards, so they decided to break up into two groups, one of which headed to North Spain which the other 12 went South. Patta Amsterdam x Carhartt Work In Progress Fall/Winter 2016 || Short Film

In celebration of their upcoming collaboration with legendary American brand Carhartt WIP, Patta has teamed up with Amsterdam-based film production company Halal and director Mees Peijnenburg to create a short film starring French performance artist Oko Ebombo.

 Featuring handstands, twirls, and poses in the middle of a soccer game, the video gives off a unique retro vibe backed by a gentle music-box style track in the background.

 The Patta x Carhartt WIP Fall/Winter 2016 collection is set to release later this month at Patta’s Amsterdam and London locations, as well as Carhartt WIP stores.

Paris-based luxury label Hermès has crafted a skate mixtape-esque video to show off their new collection of Maxi-twilly cut scarves.

 Set in an isolated skatepark, the clip follows two models as they skate and frolic through the landscape. Making use of seamless or flowing transitions and motions throughout the video, the clip does well to represent the effortlessness of the scarves themselves.

 Releasing soon at Hermès retailers worldwide, the Maxi-twilly collection is cut from 100% silk and features 15 elegant scarves emblazoned with designs exclusive to Hermès’s unique creative direction.

Fender || Don 'Nuge' Nguyen on Creativity and Love for the Bass

“Is it better to burn out or fade away?”

There’s one sure thing about pro skater Don 'Nuge' Nguyen—he goes hard. If you don’t already know what we’re talking about, check the below video to watch him bomb a hill and skate with a blatant disregard to personal safety. Hailing originally from Oklahoma City, Baker team member and Arctic band member Nuge was a natural inclusion for the Fender Deluxe series.

Atiba Jefferson shot Nuge cruising around LA in his vintage Trans Am, talking about a love that doesn’t include skating, designing for his company Volume 4 or pho (he’s got a bowl of the stuff tattooed on his arm)—bass guitar. Life without bass for Nuge is like TV without colour, and anyone who rips as hard on bass as they do on concrete deserves to have the best tools to do so. So, Fender paired him with a guitar that made sense; the Fender Deluxe Jazz Bass. It’s a double-cutaway 4-string electric bass with two vintage noiseless jazz bass pickups in the middle and bridge positions. And it sounds pretty damn nice.

Experimental filmmaking techniques such as time-lapse, high-speed, and stop-motion photography were used to photograph handmade props, fluid dynamics, and angular momentum.

Nixon || You only tell the truth in the dark: William Aliotti

"You only tell the truth in the dark" is an inspirational short movie directed by Sebastien Zanella - Desillusion Magazine - illustrating a vision of surfing rarely seen, an ode to solitude, introspection and waves pursuit, miles away from the usual « sea, sex & surf » clichés.

With just a van, a few boards and a camera, William Aliotti and Sebastian Zanella embarked on a 3000km solo surf exploration road trip along the Chilean coastline, travelling across the dusty Atacama desert, ghost towns and fishermen villages from Santiago all the way to Arica. 

The loneliness atmosphere expressed here is a romantic, pastoral attitude which inspires us to leave culture and technology behind, and to rediscover nature through surfing, an exploration beyond social conventions.

In his ultimate pursuit of luck, William entered The Arica Pro 2016 and found himself winning it in historical surf conditions, leaving South America with his first ever international contest win and $10,000 richer.
