This new film from the mind and body of Jim Greco is more than just
tricks, it’s a glimpse into the soul of one of skateboarding's greatest
ambassadors.
Mr. Bags, whose real name is Tao Liang, started out as a college student
studying finance.
But his real passion was women's handbags, and so he
started up a blog about it.
The content was simple: reviews of women's handbags, advice on new trends — stuff you'd normally see in a fashion magazine.
But Mr Bags struck a nerve among young Chinese who were getting bored
with pushy editorials and cheesy advertising, and 4 years and 4 million
followers later, he's gone from a tiny blog to being the singular most
influential voice in the Chinese handbags industry.
And he's not just writing about bags nowadays — he's making them.
Prestigious design houses like Givenchy and Tod's have signed him up to design limited-run bags for them.
To see how one 26 year old has flipped the Chinese luxury market on its head, watch the video below.
The Manera team headed up North to Lewis & Harris islands, this is their story.
Whether you are up in the Hebridean islands or just riding your local
spot in winter, cold water creates something unique, it connects people
and inspires mutual respect.
Frozen smiles & veins filled with frigid water, nothing stops the cold water community from going out there.
Being cold, wearing thick rubber, putting on wet wetsuits in the morning… these are small sacrifices compared to the rewards.
This movie is an ode to all the guys & girls braving harsh weather to live their passion.
Na-Kel Smith may be one of the most-talked about street skaters in the
sport, and it has just as much to do with his skills on the board as it
does with his skills off the board.
It’s not because he lacks any particular ability, although he’ll humbly
admit becoming Pro is still a surprise to him; it’s because he possesses
so much talent in so many other mediums of creative expression.
His most ambitious pivot will come next month when he makes his acting debut in Jonah Hill’s coming-of-age film, Mid90s.
“The fact that I do so much other shit, I feel like I got to prove it,”Na-Kel tells HYPEBEAST while rummaging through his California apartment, “not
to anyone else but to myself.”
A few weeks ago, back in August, HYPEBEAST followed the young virtuoso around
for a weekend, from skating the local LA streets with his teammates, to
playing a concert in San Diego.
“[I'm] trying to see if anything in the world is really as possible as
they say, and to be honest, if you have a good work ethic and your
open-minded, it seems pretty true so far.”
Inside Miami's Luxury Car Hustle || Fake it 'Til You Make It
“The car business in general is a tough business. The car rental
business, even more so. Anybody who finds out they can make money and
drive a Ferrari, I mean, they’re diving in head first,” says Matt Cruz,
owner of MVP Exotic Rentals, a legitimate luxury car rental business
based in Miami.
But when everybody wants to be a celebrity, how to you tell the difference between faking it and making it?
The game is finesse, and with the allure of getting behind the wheel of
the world’s most expensive cars, who wouldn’t want to play?
In a world where likes and fame can be bought and the filtered facade of
Instagram reigns supreme, VICE meets some of the legit — and the
not-so-legit — players that cater luxury car rentals to the biggest
rappers, athletes, and celebrities of the moment.
IN ICELAND + COPENHAGEN || One Trip. Two Destinations.
In June 2018, Vicent Urban set out on a 2-week journey to Iceland &
Copenhagen, enjoying two very different experiences on just one trip.
On the one side, the vastness, emptiness and otherworldly landscape of
Iceland with it’s almost 24 hours-daylight in summer, on the other, a
modern city full of life, history and exceptional architecture.
This film is a collection of all the contrasting moments & memories he captured.
The latest episode of Complex’s popular series Sneaker Shopping catches up with Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin, who talks his way around A Ma Maniere in Atlanta to discuss some of his favourite models.
Oshun is packed with 60 minutes full of jazz fuelled
fresh baked crispy drum breaks, intelligent use of sample phrases and
minimalistic cuts in an Isolationist fashion on Jazz Fudge of the late
90's.
A study into abstract hip hop inspired by the boom bap era but looking towards the future.
Oshun is where New Orleans Jazz
spiritualism meets the intellectualism of experimental hip hop beat
makers, students of boom bap who fused musique concrete, science and
noir cinema into their beat smith artistry.
Hit play and enjoy.

In fact anyone involved in skateboarding loves Malmö.
None more so than local ripper Karl Berglind.
Despite spending most of his time abroad since dropping out of school to
pursue skateboarding two years ago, Karl still finds time to return to
his hometown.
Whether it’s partnering with Vans to action community work at Kroksbäck,
encouraging local kids to pick up skateboarding, or hanging out with
his lifelong friends at Stapelbäddsparken - the park that shaped his
style, Karl’s roots remain firmly in the Malmö skate scene.
In a rare break from his travels this summer, Wasted Talent spent a weekend with
Karl, to gain an insight into the young Swede’s love for his hometown
and the terrain that continues to define his skating.
With massive urban sprawl and a reputation for being the cold Lombard
capital, Milan doesn’t feel like a quintessentially Italian metropolis,
but with settlers from all over the country making their home here,
visitors will find all of Italy in one city.
Hosted at Milk Studios in New York City, the new performance sees
Gonzales bringing back the same tricks from the 1998 piece, which were
fluid and uninhibited to celebrate creativity and freedom of expression.
The video features clips from the new performance, as well as flashbacks to Germany.
