Jason Dill is perhaps one of skateboarding's most colorful figure -- his influence spans beyond board tricks and appearing on skate vids as he's also renowned as an accomplished entrepreneur with his brand Fucking Awesome, also simply known as FA. HYPEBEAST caught up with Dill in Los Angeles where he recently opened FA's first store on Hollywood Boulevard. In HYPEBEAST video coverage, Dill talks about how his vision for the shop came all together and how having a board wall with a black velvet backing was something he's always wanted. Star skaters Na-Kel Smith and Louie Lopez also make an appearance as they explain their respect for Dill, Fucking Awesome and his overall influence on skateboarding culture.
At his home, the 42-year-old former New Yorker speaks to HYPEBEAST about his own philosophies on life and how that "raging stupid" that he had at a young age was the driving force for FA. "I'm not in a hurry like that person was (young Jason Dill), that person was in a real, real hurry in ways I can't identify with anymore," Dill explains. "I didn't want to do a full-blown company at any point in my life and then that happened. And I think things in life that are really great and worthwhile are worth taking the time to do -- they aren't exactly what you had planned. I think it kind of asserts itself in your life and I think that's what FA is for me."
