Max Schaaf - Born Free 4

"'My name is Max Schaaf, I'm 39 years old, from Oakland, California.' It's a straightforward statement that begins the video profile of a no-nonsense guy with style to burn. Max builds bikes for a living through 4Q ('Do my wares', as he puts it) and skateboards on the side. The short film, by Mark Choiniere for Born-Free 4, presents Max's story, from how he got first into motorcycles, to what he would consider to be his dream bike (it's seen briefly in the 1967 film Hell Angels on Wheels), and finally what he's building for Born-Free 4 (a '57 Panhead).

Olympic Vermin

"Just in time for the London 2012 Olympics, animators Amael Isnard and Leo Bridle in collaboration with Beakus studio have released a short animation featuring an array of London's vermin carrying their own versions of the Olympic torch through a rainy, litter covered London, finally ending up at the 'Olympic Stadium' - which is in fact a bin by a canal in east London."

"In collaboration with Volcom and Electric Visual, Desillusion Magazine present 'This Is Ozzie' - a video portrait of Australian surfer Ozzie Wright. Raised in a family of Hippies, Ozzie grew up on the beaches of northern Sydney and quickly became famous for the humour and DIY philosophy he brought to surfing through the punk and skate scenes."
'From the paintings on his boards, the shape, his special way of surfing (a melange of strength and airs, normally done in skateboarding), to the creation of his punk rock band Goon of Doom, Ozzie's the man who gave new insight to surfing, a fresh perspective that inspired a whole generation of surfers.'
