John Lewis have officially kicked off the Christmas season, unveiling their long-awaited annual tear-jerker.

If you’ve been following the news, you will have already guessed that the legendary Elton John stars in this years’ edition, as the retailer not-so-subtly hinted at the celeb appearance by removing the “Lewis” from the sign of their flagship store a few days ago.

The entire ad is set to “Your Song” and takes us backwards through the musician’s career, showing performance highlights from the present day through to the ’80s and ’70s, before taking us inside the home of a young Elton on Christmas day, when he received a truly life-changing gift from his family.
