The Hippie Trail was the ultimate road trip of the 1960s and 70s, a countercultural odyssey that saw free-spirited travellers journeying overland from Europe to Asia in search of enlightenment and adventure.

The journey usually began in cities such as London, Amsterdam, or West Berlin before weaving through Istanbul and venturing into Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and finally Nepal.
