Omote || Real-Time Facial Projection Mapping
Using incredibly precise light projectors, Nobumichi Asai
has demonstrated how a person's face can be digitally altered in
real-time. The technique, called Projection Mapping, is relatively
common these days, but until now it's only really been used on static
objects like buildings and shoes.
To achieve the effect, the dimensions and contours of the model's face
are scanned onto the system. Tiny dots are then added to specific areas
of the face to allow the cameras to track her movements and exact
position.
