ASICS Tiger || 30 Years of GEL Celebration

ASICS is proud to celebrate 30 years of its hugely innovative GEL technology. When it was first introduced in 1986, GEL improved athletic shoe cushioning tremendously, shaking up the entire footwear industry. 

 For those unfamiliar with the technology, GEL is a soft material that's seamlessly and unobtrusively inserted into the midsole of ASICS sneakers, providing shock absorption and protection while dissipating vertical impact. Since the 80s, research into GEL has continued and the materials, form, and positioning have all been subtly adjusted to create the absolute best in performance.

 To this day, the original silhouettes featuring GEL are still worshipped by connoisseur, so the GEL-LYTE III, GEL-LYTE V, GT-COOL XPRESS and GEL-QUANTUM 360 have all been re-released in color schemes inspired by the development landscape of the time. 

 ASICS also held a one-off exclusive event in Amsterdam, allowing sneaker fanatics to drive around Japanese cars inspired by the re-release and learn more about the GEL technology.
