Since the 1970's Majuli islander Jadav Payeng from India has been planting trees in order to save his island. To date he has single handedly planted a forest larger than Central Park NYC. His forest has transformed what was once a barren wasteland, into a lush oasis.

Urban Isolation

The Berrics has premiered the final installment of the REDirect video series, created in collaboration with RED digital camera manufacturer. Each of the eleven videos in the series was directed by a visionary skateboard filmmaker, "each responsible in their own way for directing the overall look and feel of the modern skate video as we know it."

Entitled "Urban Isolation", the final installment was created by Russell Houghten and sees a skateboarder making the most of a deserted and abandoned Los Angeles.

Fireworks Filmed with a Drone

Some spectacular footage of a fireworks display captured with a drone has been uploaded to YouTube by Jos Stiglingh. The clip was apparently filmed in West Palm Beach, Florida in May of this year, using a a GoPro Hero 3 silver, mounted to a DJI Phantom 2. It has seen a recent surge of hits due to the Fourth of July celebrations in the U.S, and this article from Forbes which takes a long, hard look at the safety concerns of filming such an event. 

Pipeline Winter 2013

As GoPro continue to take the action sports world by storm, filmmaker Eric Sterman has decided to take things one step further, strapping the camera to his drone and filming a 4-minute surf video. Shot on location at the Banzai Pipeline in Oahu, Hawaii, the video gives us a unique aerial view of the landscape while also showcasing some pretty impressive surfing in what is arguably one of the best surfing locations in the world. Watch below.

Fourstar has released "Crocodile Done Deal"- a fun 18-minute video documenting the team's recent trip to Australia. Edited together by Aaron Meza, the short video reminds us what skateboarding is all about, with Eric Koston, Cory Kennedy, Tony Trujillo, Ishod Wair, Shane O'Neill, Tyler Bledsoe, Brian Anderson, Mike Carroll, Andrew Brophy, Sean Malto, Max Schaaf & Rick Howard all showing great team spirit, messing around, and pulling off obscure, creative tricks with ridiculous ease.
