Behind the Design || Return of the 1

In 1987, the Air Max 1 changed the world of footwear forever. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the icon made the invisible, visible with the arrival of visible Air Max cushioning. Through the years as the debut Air Max captured the hearts of many, the design was upgraded and slightly altered to elevate comfort while meeting the needs of everyday casual wear.
As the changes and upgrades continued, Air Max connoisseurs across the globe began to yearn for the “Golden Era” shape and build that took over the late ‘90s and early 2000s.
Watch as the Nike Sportswear design team takes us through the process behind the design of the newly crafted Air Max 1 Anniversary.

SEASONS of NORWAY || A Time-Lapse Adventure

This very well could be the most epic time-lapse we've laid our eyes on. And justly so, this project took 28 months to complete. It's a beautiful result of 20,000 kilometers traveled, 200,000 photographs taken, and 20 terabytes worth of footage. It sure is a sight to see considering it's been cut down to nearly seven minutes–worth every second.

Alfred is known as the living legend on the fixedgear scene. Winner of 5 monster track and Red Hook Criterium ripper shows us himself riding his favourite playground, the street.

What we found interesting about Alfred is not only his agressive style while riding through the streets, his way of thinking what bicycle means to him is what we love most about his person.

What A Ride || Short Film

What A Ride is a soulful portrait of a man’s passion for speed and vintage cars, featuring the gripping twists and turns that only exist along California’s northern coast.

It’s a sunny Sunday in November. Riding shotgun in an old Alfa roadster we pull into a service station with a pack of vintage sports cars in tow, up to our elbows in smiles and road grime. My phone vibrates, my driver's phone vibrates, I look up to see the other drivers reading their phones. Jordan is dead.

Jordan, a man who poured every last ounce of his being into creating a machine that matched his hunger to drive. We spent most of the previous days together riding along in his beautiful 911, talking love and life and cars and listening to the wind. And recording. His final thoughts and last tour captured on film.

This is 'What A Ride', a tribute to Jordan Hilsenbeck.

Antisocial Skateboard Shop || The Antisocial Video

Vancouver B.C. is home to one of North America’s most vibrant and lasting skateboard communities.
Canada’s westernmost metropolis has always churned out some of the most incredible skaters—people like Rick McCrank, Russ Milligan, the Red Dragons crew, Wade Fyfe, Spencer Hamilton, and (for the real ones out there) Ted DeGros

While the summers are beautiful, the city is rained out the majority of the year, sometimes making it a hard place to sell someone a skateboard. However, the scene and culture of skateboarding has always flourished in Vancouver, and one can certainly attribute that to the dedication of a place like Antisocial Skateboard Shop.

Having first opened its doors in 2002 (the year Chomp on This came out on cassette tape), the shop turns fifteen in March. Let’s face it, fifteen years is a long time to be able to successfully keep anything in business, especially a business whose main product is disposable pieces of wood whose retail value hasn’t budged in damn near thirty years.

But Antisocial is an international institution, at once a reason for locals to get involved and a reason for skaters from elsewhere to come to town. What is the chemistry that makes Antisocial so dope? It definitely has something to do with their banging video choreography, taste in skate brands, and tight relationship with the community of which they’re a part. It’s usually a prerequisite to have a skater owning a skate shop, but Michelle Pezel brings so much more to the table. Genial, creative, committed, and the opposite of a kook, Michelle is the effortless curator of the shop’s aesthetic.

The Skateboard Shop lives!

Gordon Ramsay Challenges Amateur Cook to Keep Up with Him || Bon Appetit

Bon Appétit has released a funny new video which sees an amateur chef try and keep up with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay as he makes crab cakes and a salad. Sound easy? Well, he's also got his back turned and only has Gordon Ramsay's descriptions to go off. Considering Shane's never even cooked crab before, he actually does a pretty decent job. Actually, who are we kidding, it goes dreadfully. Check it out for yourself below!

Ain't No Wave Pool || Mick Fanning on #TheSearch by Rip Curl

What if I told you there was an unknown sand-bottom right that is five kilometres long, breaks 20 metres off the beach, holds six foot of swell and has only been surfed by four people on the entire planet?

 Would you believe me?

What if good-ol’-having-a-year-off-Mick Fanning was one of those surfers, and he told you that this wave had him haulin’ arse like an F1 driver down a strip of sand that never seemed to end.

Would you believe him?

This ain't no fucking wave pool! This is the real world. This is The Snake.

REFLECTION || Chas Christiansen for MASH

As artists, we look for tools that allow us to create looks in the
recording of light that continue to celebrate bikes
and their riders. This new project is an experiment in polarizing reflective light.
With support from Apple, we wanted to shoot a video with equipment that is
accessible to a large population of the modern world. The best camera you own is
the one you have with you, and the smart phone is in your pocket day after day. We
used two ExoLens Zeiss wide angle lenses and one B+W circular polarizer
mounted to a Movi M5 gimbal. We recorded through the MoviePro app to create a
camera rig that shoots duplicate images, with one camera recording all reflectivity,
and the second camera, with the polarizer, blocking all the reflective light in the
scene. By editing between the two recordings, we created an effect that feels like the
cyclist is powering his bike and clothing through the energy he puts into his pedals.

size? Captures || Manchester

Each city around the country and beyond offers something different upon every visit. Architecture varies from weather beaten granite walls to considered chrome archways that help to shape the character of each city throughout their lifespan.

Throughout our new size? Captures series, we're aiming to shine a light on the host cities that each of our retail spaces reside in, and take a look at different perspectives through the eyes of local creatives. For the first episode we kept things local and met up with some of our favourite Manchester based photographers to take out some of the latest vintage running product from Nike, adidas Originals and Reebok Classic to see how each person would interpret shooting in the environment.

Wes Kremer's Perfect Day || Short Video

We’ve all had them, those perfect days. Nothing all that special happens, you know, you wake up feeling fine, sun shining. With no pressing obligations, errands or chores, you go to the room you like chilling in the most, sit there, get a loose idea of what the day will hold; nothing so binding that you’d call it a plan, something more of a framework. Figure you’ll head over to the warm-up spot, some bros show up, and you end up skating all day. Nothing heavy, just tinkering around, skate some nugs, cruise down to the beach. Those days can be the most satisfying—the ones riddled with spontaneity.
Here's a perfect day, with Wes Kremer.

Bad Brains are one of the most important and influential American bands still working today. They melded punk and reggae into an innovative style that has yet to be copied. Their impact and influence can be heard in groups like Beastie Boys, No Doubt, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction and countless more. Despite the troubles of an eccentric front man they have stayed together for 30 years without ever reaching the level of success so many think they deserve.
