How Public Skateshop is preserving the culture and motivating the local scene

“I have a lot of principles and I don’t step over those,” says Yannick Wijgman, who runs Public Skateshop in the Dutch city of Arnhem. And it shows in the way he runs his shop – constantly organizing events, out in the streets filming, and pushing the scene as much as he can. On top of that, he’s got a massive video and magazine collection that he shares right inside the shop. For this short film, he gave us a tour through Arnhem (and its great spots) and showed us some of his rare collector’s items.

Music critics have described the band as one of the most innovative rock bands of the past twenty years. The band has released eight studio albums to date, three of which have been awarded platinum (Adrenaline, Around the Fur and White Pony) and one gold (Deftones).

Working with his family, Ademar is a pillar of the neighborhood.
